Samsung and SK Hynix’s shares after partnership with Openai

The shares of Samsung Electronics and the Korex Hynix jumped on Thursday, one day after the two companies announced a partnership with the Openai AI (Openai) within the American initiative called Stargate.

Samsung shares recorded its highest level since January 2021, an increase of 4 percent, while the SK Hynix shares jumped by more than 9 percent to reach the highest level since 2000.

Openai said in a statement that the partnership will focus on increasing the supply of advanced memory slices necessary for the next generation of artificial intelligence and expanding the capabilities of databases in South Korea.

The developer of Chatgpt (CBT) added that the two Korean companies are planning to expand the production of advanced memory slices, which are essential to running artificial intelligence models.

The announcement came in conjunction with the meeting of the CEO of Openaii Sam Altman with South Korean President Lee Jay Meong in Seoul, as well as senior officials in Samsung and KK Hynix.

Openai has also signed a series of agreements to explore the development of the upcoming generation data centers of artificial intelligence in South Korea, in cooperation with the Ministry of Science, Information and Communications Technology and the SAK Telkum Telecom, in addition to Samsung companies.

The SK Hynix had announced earlier this month its willingness to start the huge production of high -range memory slices (HBM), which strengthens its pioneering position in the value -intelligence chain.

These slides are used in artificial intelligence computing processors, including the slides produced by Invidia, one of the largest SK Hynix customers.
