Trump announces his willingness to impose new sanctions on Russia

US President Donald Trump said on Sunday that he is ready to move to the second stage of sanctions against Russia due to the conflict in Ukraine.
Trump’s talk came hours after a Russian air attack, which is the largest on Ukraine since the start of the war in 2022.
In response to a question about whether he was ready to impose new sanctions on Russia, Trump told reporters at the White House: “Yes, I am ready,” without adding more details.
In conjunction with Trump’s statement, a US official said that the recent Russian strike on Kiev is not a sign of Moscow’s desire to end the war diplomatically.
The fire broke out on Sunday at the headquartersUkrainian governmentIn Kiev, as a result of a Russian air attack, the largest ever used more than 800 marches and a missile, and caused at least five deaths, including two in the capital.
For his part, British Prime Minister Kiir Starmer condemned, on Sunday, the “cowardly” strikes launched by Russia on Ukraine, considering that Russian President Vladimir Putin “does not take peace seriously.”
The French President also condemnedEmmanuel MacronWith the Russian attack, considering that “Russia is increasingly immersed in the logic of war and intimidation.”
The Ukrainian Air Force announced thatRussiaAt least 805 and 13 missiles were launched at Ukraine from Saturday night until Sunday morning, in a new record since the war began in February 2022.
