US Energy Minister Chris Wright briefed on the efforts of King Abdullah University of Science and Technology “Kaost” in the fields of research, development and innovation during a visit, as he was received by Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, Saudi Energy Minister and Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees, in the context of supporting bilateral cooperation between Riyadh and Washington in the areas of common concern, on the sidelines of the American Minister’s visit to Saudi Arabia.

Wright reviewed the pivotal role of the university in supporting the knowledge economy, and contributing to addressing global challenges through advanced scientific and technical solutions, as well as its most prominent research and technologies in several fields, while highlighting the contributions of Kaost to the future of the Saudi energy sector, and its role in supporting the achievement of relevant national and global goals.

“Kaost” seeks through its strategy “an accelerated impact” to consolidate its position as a global center for innovation, by developing a stimulating research environment, supporting entrepreneurial initiatives, and strengthening local and international scientific partnerships, including continuous cooperation with international bodies such as the US Department of Energy, to achieve a sustainable impact that serves the future of energy and science at the local and international levels.
