Under the patronage and honor of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Al -Madinah Al -Munawwarah, the forty -fifth session of the Al -Baraka Symposium for the Islamic Economy was launched. Which was held yesterday (Wednesday) at Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz University, under the slogan: “Islamic Banking in fifty years: the achievements of the past and the hopes of the future.”
The official ceremony of the symposium witnessed a qualitative presence of senior scholars, experts, economists and Islamic finance from all over the world; Where the start of the first session of (Saleh Kamel Award for Islamic Economy) was announced; Which aims to stimulate scientific research and encourage innovation in thought and applications related to the Islamic economy, in a way that keeps pace with global transformations and looks at the future of the financial industry.
Two main topics for the first session (2025-2026) of the award have been identified; The first in the field of Islamic economics, entitled: “The future of the Islamic financial industry in the era of digitization: challenges, risks and prospects – an overseer analytical study until 2050.” As for the second topic, in the jurisprudence of the Islamic economy, it is entitled: “The impact of the purposes on the jurisprudence on the applied images of modern financial transactions.”
