“Al -Baraka Symposium 45” honors the contributions of Saudi pioneers to the Islamic financial industry – the world of business

Under the patronage and honor of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Al -Madinah Al -Munawwarah, the works of the forty -fifth session of the Al -Baraka Symposium for the Islamic Economy, which will be held this year under the slogan:
“Islamic Banking in fifty years: the achievements of the past and the hopes of the future”, in the rehab of Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz University.
During the official opening ceremony, His Highness honored a number of prominent Saudi personalities, who had a pioneering and pivotal role in establishing and developing the Islamic economy system, by giving them the shield of Saleh Kamel and a certificate of appreciation. The honoring of His Royal Highness the Emir of the region was honored, along with His Excellency Mr. Abdullah Saleh Kamel, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Al -Baraka Forum for Islamic Economy, and His Excellency Professor Mohiuddin Saleh Kamel, member of the Board of Trustees.
Among the honored His Highness Prince Muhammad Al -Faisal Al Saud – may God have mercy on him, one of the most prominent founders of the modern Islamic banking movement, where the estimated award received his son Prince Amr bin Muhammad Al -Faisal, in appreciation of his rich career in leading and establishing leading economic institutions that left its mark on the banking scene locally and internationally.
His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah bin Sulaiman Al -Manea, a member of the Council of Senior Scholars and Advisor to the Royal Court, and the owner of prominent efforts in establishing the juristic framework of the Islamic financial industry.
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Omar Shabra, one of the pillars of modern Islamic economic thought, and the honorary shield received his son, Dr. Anas Shapra, and Prof. Dr. Muhammad Omar Zubair – may God have mercy on him, from the first academics to contribute to the development of Islamic financial thought, and the award received on his behalf by his son Yasser Zubair, His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Muhammad Ali Al -Madani, the first president of the Islamic Development Bank, and the owner of the strategic vision in linking the Islamic economy to the sustainable development, The award received on his behalf by his daughter, Dr. Hanan Al -Madani.
This honor comes within the framework of the message of the continuous blessing of Al -Baraka to celebrate the pioneers who contributed to establishing the first building blocks of the Islamic economy, consolidating its concepts, and publishing it in academic and practical circles. The honor also embodies an institutional and societal recognition of prominent economic efforts that inspired generations and contributed to drawing the features of the future of the Islamic financial industry, and enabled her to interact with the variables of the times without losing their authentic identity.
