“Al -Baraka Cultivation 45” honors the late Saeed Al Lootah in appreciation of his pioneering role in the Islamic economy – the business world
Within the framework of the activities of the forty -fifth session of the Al -Baraka Forum for the Islamic Economy, whose work was launched yesterday (Wednesday) in Medina, and sponsored and honored His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Madinah Region, the symposium honored a group of Islamic economics who had a great impact on establishing the pillars of Islamic banking and expanding its horizons over the past decades.
Among the honorable personalities, the scholarship of Saleh Kamel and a certificate of appreciation for the name of the Emirati pioneer Sheikh Saeed bin Ahmed Al -Lootah – may God have mercy on him – (1923-2020), in appreciation of his inspiring career and his pioneering efforts in supporting the concepts of Islamic economics and enhancing integration between legal principles and the requirements of comprehensive development.
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Sultan, along with His Excellency Professor Abdullah Saleh Kamel, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Al -Baraka Forum for Islamic Economics, and His Excellency Professor Mohiuddin Saleh Kamel, member of the Board of Trustees, honored the delivery of honor, which was received on behalf of the family, Professor Fatima Saeed Al Lootah, during the official ceremony hosted by Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz University, in the presence of high -ranking scholars, thinkers and financial decision -makers from various parts of the world Islamic.
Sheikh Saeed Al Lootah – may God have mercy on him – was known for his unique ability to integrate the creative between Islamic values and practical applications, so it was a race in the establishment of leadership institutions today that has become a global reference in the field of Islamic economics, the most prominent of which is Dubai Islamic Bank – the first Islamic bank in the world (1975), and the Arab Islamic Insurance Company (IAAC) that early the concept of Islamic insurance that is compatible with Sharia in 1979.
His contributions extended to community education and care, where he established the Islamic School of Education in 1982, the first Islamic Medicine College, and the Dubai Pharmacy College in 1992, as well as the launch of the Orphans Education Foundation, to confirm its deep commitment to the service of the most needy groups.
